well I didn't mail my application in until before Thanksgiving. (they finally said they received everything now by the way).

If I get accepted, I'll probably go, in-state tuition save some money you know. I'm a big Baltimore Orioles fan so living close to Baltimore would be tight.

I'll probably major in Music that's my forte, (forte, music, get it? HAHAHAHA I'm hilarious) but I do enjoy Politics and George Mason is the place to be for Political Science, so you might see me in some PoliSci classes.

And where do I want to live? On campus of course, President's Park looks real nice so we'll just see what comes here in April for me.

I just received my acceptance packet today. If I do not get into James Madision, I will definately be going here. :]

Good luck.

Where do you live?

I live in Spotsylvania.

Congrats on your acceptance.

Thanks. :] Were you accepted?

No, I live in Roanoke though. HOPEfully I'll get in. I haven't decided where I am going yet, but GMU is a very nice school.

word, I'm from Roanoke too. Its still a toss-up for me if I want to go there if I get accepted, in-state tuition is great, but I'm looking at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC near Myrtle Beach and it looks like they're gonna offer me some scholarship that will make their out-state tuition basically be the same as paying in-state. Not to take anything away from Mason, I would love to be up there in the D.C. area but Myrtle Beach, fairly nice weather year round, and Coastal has football, which is just something I want, I understand that Mason has a club football sport though, rather odd. We'll just have to see what comes next.

hey you guys i live right by GMU and its a huge campus, but there is a small movie theater where the prices for the movies are only 4 bucks and 3 on tuesdays. There is also a great resaurant and a place to buy food! good luck to u guys!

i'm probably going to end up debating between this and hollins (roanoke). Do you guys know how long it takes to recieve notification? My last item was supposedly recieved on 12/12.

welll ast year GMU said that they would notify you before christmas but that was a bust and it wasnt till after they do it over snail mail

did anyone get their letter yet?

I applied early and I still haven't found out.

You should have found out already. Have you called them?

Several times, "it should be coming soon" I am told. GMU was my top choice but after their Admissions Office losing my SAT scores and giving me the run-around everytime I call for information on my file, it's not. How can an entire school function if their Admissions Office is so disorganized? Many of my friends have had similar experiences.

my friend went through the same crap last year

It's too bad. GMU has the potential to be a great school if they could just figure out a way to recruit high quality students.

I'm a high quality student. It's not a bad school.

I as well as everyone else on these boards are high quality students, and the school is wonderful. It's just that I think they limit how many high quality students they recruit because their admissions office is so ridiculously disorganized. They have great programs like the scholars program and honors, but they don't push these programs enough. They also have a very innovative adjunct faculty program, but I didn't know about this until indepth research. I can think of a few simple things that would raise the quality of their applicant pool significantly, and by saying this, I am not implying that students at Mason are low quality. I have a very close friend who turned down UVa, W&M, and numerous other well known schools for Mason, and for good reason. I think Mason has the potential to have many more students like this.
