Who thinks that they'll be attending?

I haven't sent in my SIR yet, but I'm 99% sure I'll be matriculating to UMD (in other words, I'd essentially have to visit the campus and HATE it to choose somewhere else). I thought I'd start this thread to see where people are from, what programs they'll be in, etc.

Programs: Honors, Honors Humanities, Marching and Concert Bands

Major: Government (may double in economics)

Location: Ventura County, California

DUDE NO WAY!

i am from thousand oaks. i just got back from UMD and it was AWESOME! I am majoring in journalism and i am in the civicus living and learning program. Campus is way nice and the people there are even nicer. I will attend UMD if i can figure out a way to afford the out of state $$. what highschool do you go to?

I can’t wait to see the campus (staying overnight on the 16th, doing the orientation on the 17th). It’s good to see someone else from this area is going!

eyyjordan: Can you tell us more about your visit? What was so great? I’m going next week - can’t wait.

Already enrolled because parents don’t want to pay for anything else.

Yippee.

Ummm, if you really don’t want to go, you could always pay the difference yourself. That’s the deal we made with our kids.

My son is going to go to Maryland. He is choosing (HIS choice) to come out of school debt-free rather than go to another school and have a lot of debt.

BTW, he’s instate, computer science, and excited about it.

I’m probably going to end up matriculating.

I wish that was my situation, my parents are fighting having to pay for UMD, even though it looks like I’m getting a decent amount of money. It looks like they’ll still let me go though :).

Hi ElBlufer…I think your excitement about UMD caught on with my daughter, Rebecca. She said you two communicated on FB today and that you will both be in HH and are both going on the 16th. Will you live in Wicomico? Have fun meeting each other!

the overnight stay/ spring visit day was really enjoyable. It was raining on thursday when i arrived in Dulles, but it managed to clear up for friday for the campus tour. The overnight stay was a good time. My host was cool and let us experience what the real college life is like.

Glad to see that my excitement rubbed off on someone :P.

yeah, I will for sure be living in Wicomico! I think it could be a real opportunity as far as getting to know people goes.

I’ll be living in wicomico (if i attend, i’d say it’s about a 90% chance) too! Is there a FB group for class of 2013 HH?

Start one up, i think there’s only an honors one.

Elblufer–can you start a FB page for HH?? My D said she joined the Honors page but isn’t finding more than one or 2 HH people. She’s frustrated (and would kill me if she knew I was writing this to you! ) She is now questioning if she should live in Wicomico, thinking that there are so many more to choose from in Honors. I’m trusting you with my D’s future. ;)

haha, I’ll start it up in a few minutes then.

OK, Rebecca just showed it to me. When did you do it? Gotta get more faces on there besides you two!

I started it about a half hour ago, so not that long ago. I’m only friends with 2 of the people that said they’re in honors humanities, so it’s just a matter of time before more people find it and join.

what’s it called. i can’t seem to find it
