So you apply your best score ONLY?

Hi, CC!
I hope this thread is not duplicated.
I searched + checked it but I couldn't get clear answers for this.

So, this is what I heard few years ago; if you take several SATs, the AVERAGE SCORE of ALL tests will be applied.

However, someone said this rule has changed. So now we apply the BEST SCORE ONLY.

What is true?
And how about SAT SUBJECT TESTS?

Help me please. I need to know it very soon...

Have a great day!
Later :)

I don't know what you mean about "applied," but the score report sends a history of all SATs and SAT Subject Tests you've ever taken, it doesn't average them or anything. I've never heard of any colleges that average together scores either.

heres's my interpretation of the situation:

in the past all scores were sent to the college and the college could do whatever they want with your scores (they usually just used the highest score)

now you can choose which score you would like to send
so you can send a lower score if you like, but that doesn't really make sense.

Right, i forgot. College Board is going to start letting students choose what scores to send starting in March. You'll be able to select which scores you want on your report to send to colleges. But they don't average them or anything.

First, thank you for replies!

yeah, I was meaning 'send a score.' :-9
So now we can choose the best score.. that's great.
Is it working for the test that has taken before March, too? (I bet you mean March 2009)

Oh, how about SAT subject tests? Same way?

Yes, same way for the Subject Tests, and it's all in March 2009. I believe it applies to all tests, including ones taken in the past.

Thanks a lot again! :-D

^Though some of the more selective schools still want ALL your SAT scores, I've heard.

superscored you mean? some colleges do that
