So you need a 34 on your ACT to even apply? Should I just not bother?

I was reading the chance sub forum and people commented that you need a 34 for JHU to even consider you ED.
I only have a 31, do I even stand a chance? Or it is just a waste money because I don't have a 34+.

Teach a man to fish …

Google <school name=""> common data</school>

In there you will see that the ACT 25th/75th percentiles are 31/34
So, roughly a quarter of the newly enrolled freshmen had no better than a 31 on the ACT.
Would a higher score help? yes.
Is it a waste of money to apply? not if you have other virtues.

Good luck.

I also have a 25 math score….do I still have a chance? @ixnayBob

The only people who know if you have a chance work in the admissions office. Unless you can’t afford the application I’d say apply and see what happens.
A 25 math is quite low for JHU IMO, but there is more to your app than just test scores.

I am a current student at Hopkins and I know many people who were accepted with ACT scores below 30. Also keep in mind Hopkins superscores the ACT now. Hopkins could easily fill its class with 4.0/2400/36 students but looks for ways in which you will benefit the community. I applied with a 31 ACT RD for 2014 and am so happy I did. Present yourself as a personable applicant and identify ways in which you will contribute to Homewood and Baltimore in your application.
