Social Life and Gender Ratio

I was reading some student reviews of Drexel, and noticed a lot of people were complaining about the social element, or lack thereof. Is it really as bad as some people are saying? Also, some people were saying the gender ratio was skewed significantly towards men, which I found odd since the college board’s website said the schools gender ratio is about half-and-half.

Its 50/50. I think if you are in one of the tough engineering majors, then most of your classes will be largely male, but that’s every school. My daughter attends and Ive visted her a few times.
In her first year she was in a dorm with a lot of the honors engineering boys on full rides… Boys had big screen TVS and would have video game marathons and order in food deliveries–never leaving except for class. The up side for her was that they would feed her and help with her physics homework. LOL Then she switch to honors housing in milenum which was heavily female .

Remember that Drexel and Upenn are the heart of University City, a very college focused neighborhood. She has a nice group of female friends, most of whom are in sororities. She chose not participate in Greek life because she philosophically against exclusionary clubs. Even without the whole frat party scene, she finds plenty to do for fun.

My daughter is artsy, so most of her social life revolves around that.
Her roommate cheers , so she’s goes to sporting events, not something she would do at home. But seems enjoy. Philadelphia likes their sports.
Philadelphia is a heck of a lot cheeper than NYC, so the kids can actually afford to go out on the town.
