I was accepted to BC, and was wondering what the social scene is like. Obviously I want to do some hard work in college, but there are always the weekends where I’d rather kick back and have fun. After reading this thread, http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/1116449-dorm-room-searched-campus-police-just-now.html, and seeing how it was mentioned the students in discussion attend a Jesuit university, how is the party/social scene at BC? Is it extremely strict, etc?

So is there no social life at BC? I’m just wondering because with the lack of Greek I’m guessing there are less parties. Does one need to travel into Boston with a fake ID to have any fun?

Wow. No. Where do people get this idea? It’s pretty much the exact opposite. As someone who has lived right next to BC for 17 years, I almost wish there wasn’t so much partying (not that it’s as intense as a huge state school or anything; just that clearly I’m not exactly a huge party person); that’s actually kind of a drawback for me as far as whether or not to enroll. But it is, of course, also easily avoidable judging from everything I have gathered. Trust me, you will not be missing out on any social opportunities if you come to BC.
