Social Life at CMU

I recently got accepted to the Dietrich school at CMU, and I’m kind of concerned about not having the real “college experience” at Carnegie Mellon. I’ve read a lot things that say people are socially awkward and just study all the time. School is very important to me, but I know I can manage schoolwork and a social life. If there’s any current/recent CMU students on here, could you tell me about your experiences? I haven’t partied excessively in high school, but I would like to be able to go out most weekends. Should I just join a sorority at Carnegie? I will most likely end up going here anyway, I just want to know what to expect when I get there.

I believe there is a very good FAQ about Carnegie Mellon that includes social life pinned to the Carnegie Mellon University page.
