Social life at LMU

Ok so I was wondering what the social life is like at LMU? Like are there many parties? On campus or off campus? Do students go out to clubs/bars in Hollywood etc?

I really like the look of LMU (unfortunately I haven't been able to visit as I live in England!) and I definitely want there to be a social/party scene - I want to split my time between partying and studying - not just all party or all study.

From reading previous posts I get the feeling that the religious aspect of the college isn't imposed upon students, but does this affect the college spirit/campus atmosphere at all?

Thanks in advance!

From what I’ve heard the campus can be pretty dead on the weekends, but remember. LMU is in LOS ANGELES. If you want to find a party scene, you will be able to.

I don’t think you will find much on campus, from what I’ve heard from other students, but you certainly won’t be bored in LA.

campus isn’t dead on the weekends, there are always parties/events to go to.

I visited the campus and I felt it was pretty, but seemed somewhat boring. I’m not sure though. School wasn’t in session so that could be why.

It’s a smaller school- so it won’t have huge things going on on campus every night. But there is always something to do, and like someone else said- it’s LA- if your worst case scenario is getting down off the bluff and visiting cool places in LA, you’re pretty lucky!

I might go to LMU this fall…how big is the party scene on average…2wice a week? i heard the gates shut at 12 or something and you cant enter till morning is that true? i am mostly going to ASU but i wanna study not only party!!!

You can get in with your one card if the back gate is shut. Ive never seen the front gate shut, but you still need an ID.

A lot of people don’t have classes on Friday, so Thursday night is actually a big party night.

Also, Rosecrans is the freshman party dorm. Whelan kind of is too, but it’s more of the get high type of party.
