Social Scene at Princeton????

You'll go through periodic cycles with exponential decay until you reach the steady state, and your attractive fixed point is gonna be the sleeping part. :)

lol yea Irish coffee. When I was at the airport in the Dominican Republic, everything had liquor in it. My friend bought coffee and got drunk.

They have coffee liquor too. And chocolate, yum. I like Bailey's

Wow, the allure of beer and women, what more do you need? Though honestly, I'll be squeaky clean...sort of.

While I don't look down upon those who do, I don't drink. It's just not my idea of fun. I expect there will be plenty of people who will welcome the chance to get wasted and plenty who who will pass. I'll be partying with the second group.

Yay for df14 and any other non-drinkers! You're welcome in AK! proly just as welcome as you'd be in Princeton tho.. whateva! Welcome to my world!

I'm not a big fan of drinking either. The last time I drank I felt like crap the whole next day, so I decided that I can't drink again unless I have nothing to do for several days. Which is really never.

Wow, this is actually really comforting to know that there are a lot of people here who don't drink. Seriously, that was my number one concern about Princeton. Now i'm so happy :)

Its probably not a good test of a school environment to poll ccers on whether or not they drink, since this is a rather select portion of the student body... ;)
Translation: most ccers don't drink anyway.

true, true... but as long as i know that there will be others at princeton who don't drink, no matter how few, i'll be fine ;)

Drinking in itself, I think, isn't a problem in a social situation. I believe it becomes a problem when it IS the social situation.

The drinking would be unnecessary if all the girls and guys were outgoing and unconservative. But since a lot of kids are restricted by inhibitions, drinking at a relatively safe level becomes more logical rather than ruling it out altogether.

Yes...but sad that so many people depend on alcohol to be social.

I love drinking!!! white wine and BEER ONLY!!!

omg i'm gonna be so cool at t3h princt0n campus, and have all these hot chicks around me all the time

/end day dreaming

The wine idea doesn't sound too bad. I shared a bottle with my friends when we had pasta one night, and it definitely soothed the mood quite a bit. Wine seems to be the choice of intellectuals, so I definitely expect to see some of that being passed around the Princeton social scene.

I Quote:

Well most people here shouldn't be drinking legally :) unless ur in Germany

or mexico or canada... oh wait.. is it illegal there? it seems that no one cares though... same goes for here i suppose

yeah lol it's not like the law has stopped 95% of american kids from drinking... and the kids who don't drink are sober because they want to be, not because they can't access alcohol.

^ agreed. maybe we should make the law less lenient so less people try it for the thrill of doing something illegal. example: holland's legalization of pot and the resultant decrease in drug related deaths (i think)

also see: holland's legalization of prostitution, abortion, iPods and giraffes. led to significantly less prostitution, abortions, and giraffes. iPods remain on the rise still.

BTW, what kind of people exactly ARE CCers? I haven't been on this forum long enough to find out...

Overachievers. Every single damn one of us. We pretend we're cool, but we're all nerds at heart ;)
