How is your social life? Is it better than expected?

What do you do on a regular basis for fun?

This is my first non-party weekend, and WOW, UC Socially Dead was right.
I need to get off-campus tomorrow/nextweekend.

my social life is alot better than in high school. just get involved, and go greek =).

(: Naw, get a FRIEND who's going greek. ;o

The proper response to this question is:

"What social life?"

Take notes, froshie.

My social life is better than expected.

I love my friends and I'm fine with my social life. I don't party.

it has been a freakin EXCITING atmosphere to be in......... ppl have fun like crazy all the time here from dawn to dust.... there are always parties nonstop especially during Friday and Saturday nights... ppl do not get sober here because they party hard to the fullest... .. and this is not including the greek part of campus...

You see, I am glad people are beginning to look at UCSD with more excitement. The cliche thing to say is that it is socially dead. Well perhaps it's the actual people who complain who are socially dead? If you don't like what's going on at your campus, do something about it, don't expect it just to happen. I swear, laziness abouds at UCSD.

the social life is aight, it seems like campus is dead on weekends but it could be that ppl are partying...but personally i don't party, but i hang out with my friends and stuff..personally, i don't think i need to get messed up to have fun =)

I'm going home this weekend (chillax, it'll be my second time since I got here back at Welcome Week and I'm going only because I have a dentist checkup) but weekend after = party hardy. Sick of no-partying-because-of-midterms.

Still. Even without partying for few weeks, I've been having fun, going to the malls with my friends and exploring the area.

there is a social life, it's all who you know.

last night = monday = drunken mischief

you can party 6 nights of the week if you want to..it all depends on who you know

so yeah ucsd does have a social life

Thursdays are really all one needs. The rest of the week is resting time.

UCSD is ... interesting.

go to the non-sexist dances. woot. =) November 11th is the next one for whoever missed last night.

Same place, right? Masquerades were uhh interesting and extremely fun.

yep, same place. yayfun.

SD is not socially dead at all.. quite the contrary actually... there are so many intramurals, christian fellowships, interest clubs that you'll probably have too much to do. Alot of people play sports during their free time like basketball, tennis, volleyball and especially ultimate frisbee. Don't forget the beach either, probably one of the best beaches in the country.

the negative thing about UC San Diego though is that since alcohol isn't allowed on-campus, parties are practically all off-campus therefore harder to find if you don't have "connections".

in addition, we dont have a football team... which sucks... (c'mon guys, vote yes on a football team pleaaase)
i'd love to see a sungod or man-maid mascot running around the sidelines
there's still the waterpolo team to root for though (we owned UCLA >=] sorta )

all in all, UCSD doesn't fare worse than any other colleges... I wouldn't let fear of a "socially dead" campus turn you away

It's only socially dead if you're like completely dead set on partying every single weekend. But honestly, there's a ton of stuff to do if you just take initiative. Don't wait for the social scene to come to you - seek it out. Join clubs, get active. Whatever. Make friends. Take the bus to downtown La Jolla. I don't know, whatever it takes to make you happy with where you're at socially. I personally am totally cool with my social life, which consists primarily of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship (FREAKING AWESOME and my favorite part of college thus far) and a group of friends that I hang out with regularly, whether to eat, hang out, study, do homework, whatever. Don't party, don't care to, and I'm cool with the fact that parties don't come to you.
