Basically, how's the Sociology program? I'm leaning towards this major and would love some input. Thanks!

A high school classmate of my D is a soc major at W&M. There is a scholars program--Sharpe I believe--that you can apply to as a freshman, which specializes in community service, and D's friend has found that this enhances her experiences within her major.

I know a few sociology majors and they are doing ok for themselves... the 2 I am thinking of off the top of my head, one is doing teach for america and the other working at a law firm.

I can't tell you much about the actual classes though.

I know someone who took a Soc class this semester and decided to change her major, so for the department is obviously doing something well!
Unfortunately, I do not know much about it.
Maybe their website will be of use? You can try emailing the department head to find out more too!

soccerguy, thanks so much for bringing in the reality of it all. I'm actually considering a Soc major, then Law school. Appreciate the help.
