Hi all!

I just wanted to get some advice from those who are experienced with these kinds of things on my plans for school/work.

Right now, I'm an accounting major at a decent school. I also am in a program that will allow me to obtain my MS Accountancy exactly 1 year after graduating with a Bachelor's degree. This program helps in meeting and establishing relationships with accounting firms and various industry firms as well. My ultimate goal is to be at the top of the corporate ladder (executive position such as CFO; but isn't that the goal of every business student!).

What I'm thinking is this: I will get both my BBA and MS degree and then work for 2-4 years. Afterwards, I'm looking at an elite school for my MBA (MIT, Northwestern, Harvard, etc.).

How does this sound to those of you who may have already gone through this process? My thinking is that the MS + work experience will really help me in getting the most out of the MBA degree, as well as improve my chances at gaining admission into competitive schools.

Also, a few more questions: I'll be getting my BBA when I'm 20 and my MS Accountancy when I'm 21. Does my young age hinder me in any way? Also, if I want to get CPA certification, will that informally lock me into a career of accounting? Is passing the CPA exam even worth it considering my long-term aspirations? For that matter, does the MS lock me into a mid-level finance position? I want to be able to rise in the corporate world, and I'd like to avoid anything that will close doors for me rather than open them.

Some additional info if need be: My cumulative GPA is 3.9, and my accounting GPA is 4.0 (this may be because I've only taken 2 lower-level accounting courses so far).

Thanks!
