Hi I am a sophomore, and I'm starting to really worry about my chances for college as a lot of my senior friends are getting into Lehigh, Boston College, Villanova, Duke, Brown, etc. As of now this is me:

-at the end of my sophomore year, if my grades are steady as they are, I will have a 3.55 (3.6) out of a 4.3 gpa (sorry I am clueless on how to do the unweighted/weighted gpa's)

-I don't take any honors classes, however I am moving up to AP history next year, and I am considering taking AP stat next year

-I don't have ANY Cs as final grades, one marking period I did get a C in honors math, but I dropped a level to a math which is inbetween CP and honors

-I am in the instrumental music program and take part in almost every aspect of it
~marching band, jazz ensemble, high wind ensemble, pit orchestra

-I am also beginning to prep to audition for region/county band

Being a sophomore I haven't taken the official SATs, however; I did take them in eighth grade, but I doubt that counts towards anything since it pretty much just helped me get a taste for what they will be like.

I would love to go into some aspect of engineering, specifically mechanical engineering and either minor, or double major, in trumpet performance. I've looked into Duke, Rutgers, and Villanova, but I think my chances right now of getting into Duke and Villanova are pretty slim.

First off do you guys feel the same way? Second is there anything I can do to improve my chances of getting into the best schools I can at this point?

Thanks for Any Replies!
