I'm under imperial interdict as for a discussing some specifics but I've been tracking some admissions/rejections on the Grad Cafe.com website on a few programs of note & interest.

Following is a partial compilation with a few observations salted in.
I don't know what percentage of the total application universe this represents but has to be statistically significant just from gauging the raw numbers...hip pocket WAG, I'd say 40 percent.

It's interesting to note the different strategies implicit in the numbers. Some institutions are obviously holding off on rejections until they see the replies to their first batch of acceptances. Funding patterns are also interesting, albeit incomplete, i.e., many admissions notes did not comment on funding one way or the other.

Yale 15 admitted, 4 waitlisted, 49 rejected

Harvard 9 admitted, 1 waitlisted, 1 rejected

UC Berkeley 0 admitted (!!!), 3 waitlisted, 38 rejected

Maryland 7 admitted (3 without funding), 1 rejected

Michigan 5 admitted, 1 waitlisted, 10 rejected

UCLA 14 admitted (10 without funding!), 8 waitlisted, 13 rejected

Wisconsin 16 admitted (3 without funding)

**Cal Tech/b 4 admitted
