GPA is not everything. Test scores, essays, are also important. In my area, all you have to do is apply to a community college and you automatically get in. So, apply to a community college and live at home for a while then transfer out whenever you feel ready and when you have the right grades. Work really hard at community college, getting the best GPA possible then transfer out to somewhere else.

Santa Monica and De Anza are both some of the best comm colleges in America. I recommend them. People have transferred out to Stanford from there in the past, and the UC transfer rate is very high.

^ this is of course assuming you live in cali or don’t have a community college near you, etc. there are people who actually move across states to attend these places, so if you feel the need to reinvent yourself after high school, this isn’t a bad place to start.

If you believe individually that your SAT scores are terrible as well, consider some internships or traveling experience during your college years. One of them will pay off and enhance your chances to transfer into some top notch colleges.

About the essays, how can i know if I’m good on that? My teachers always tell me “Yes, it’s good” or “You are improving” but they never explain very well.

Lol, that is what I was about to ask. There are grammatical errors in his posts.

Anyways… if you have been enrolled in a California Community College for two years… transferring to UC Irvine, Berkeley, San Diego, or Los Angeles (more competitive UC), I don’t think any HS work or SAT scores will matter.

Certainly, but you need the amount of credits required to transfer to UCLA and graduate on time, which is more important than what your GPA was, even if it’s a 3.5.

If you have a 3.0, then that may be a little questioning to the adcoms.

I don’t noticed the errors, sorry.
(Even now i can’t see any grammatic error)
So, if i go to sd community college, and do it very good, then hs gpa does matther that much?

Or, i have to chose another community college that the san diego one?
