hello to all

about the Why Penn essay: it says no more than one page, but does that mean you should fill up a page, or can it be like 3/4 or even 1/2 a page...?
I know someone who wrote a 1/2 page essay (for RD), but I don't know if that's okay or not.

follow up question: (because I'm scatterbrained)

throughout the Why Penn essay, is it okay to refer to the school as Penn and not the University of Pennsylvania? I just feel like University of Pennsylvania sounds stuffy. --also: there's a program called Academically Based Community Service, and on their website they refer to it as ABCS. Should I refer to it as ABCS throughout, or spell it out once and then use the abbreviation?

thanks. :D

If you think you've said everything you need to, want to, and/or can say, then so be it. If you've got 1/2 a page, and the only way you'd fill the rest of that page is with nonsensical ramblings, then leave it at 1/2 a page. However, I'd encourage you to try to do some more research if you can, and discuss more ideas. That's just my opinion though =)

Follow-up questions:
Yes, Penn should be fine.
ABCS: I'd spell it out once, and then use the abbreviation, just to make sure the reader knows what you are talking about.

thanks for the help! It definitely resolved some issues I was having. :)

a question in general for everyone: is it cheesy to say "one of the reasons why I love (insert school name) is because..."

I feel like the word "love" is cheesy, but that's the genuine sentiment I feel about my top schools.
