It only asks for 3 SAT II’s. What if you’ve taken 4? I have SAT I 800M, 770CR, 720W, and one of my SAT II’s is 800Writing, so that could really look good, but I also have Math IIC, Physics, Chem (800x3), so I can’t choose which to put down!!

I can’t fit all the APs that I’ve already taken and will take this year (they total to 14 or 15). Should I not report my AB subscore? That saves one line…

I went to an international summer program this year (RSI), and was ranked for final presentations (Top 10). Is this a big enough award to put on the application? If so, what level of recognition is it? In a way, it is international, but in other ways, it’s not even school, since it’s only out of so few people.

When it asks “Have you taken calc, chem, etc. and what year?” do you put basic level, or AP??

What order do you put your transcript in? Recent to oldest or oldest to most recent?

1) It doesn't really matter; if they haven't changed the E-3 cards, they just list the score under math/science/other (maybe it was called humanities, I don't remember), so you'll have each spot with an 800.

2) I'd go with listing the ones you've taken and list those scores

So I put Math IIC, Chemistry, then what about the third? Writing or Physics?

lol RSI really isn't a "scholastic distinction" or award or anything. A recommendation letter from RSI to MIT will probably say I got the Top 10 Presentations thing, so should I waste space on the application for it?

The only way mentioning it could POSSIBLY hurt if it somehow makes less room for you to put down other things. Otherwise, definately mention it. It might not do any good, but it can't do any harm.

Are you mentioning that you participated in RSI at all in your application? If you are, then just put a 1 sentance blurb next to saying how you did. That won't take up much space, and it's a good way to bring the thing back into your reader's mind.

hahaha wow I was a little apprehensive about posting this here but I really do need advice. RSI, btw, is not run by MIT, but just takes place there. MITES and WTP, on the other hand, are indeed run by MIT.

Yeah I have RSI under summer experiences for sure, but the awards section gives you 40 words to describe, AND I will be able to include the Top 10 Presentations thing.

1) I took 4 SAT II's last year too, and only put down 3 in the app. I would suggest putting down Math IIC, either Physics or Chem, and Writing. Colleges will receive all your SAT scores from Collegeboard, anyways. You could also send in an additional overall resume.

2) Don't report AB subscore. I couldn't fit my AP's on the commonapp, though I could on the MIT app. I just snail-mailed in a resume for Harvard that included my AP's.

3) Put it down, definitely. I put down my top 5 papers last year on all my apps.

4) If possible, put both years. If not, put AP.

zogoto- i've seen all your stats and i'd have to say your chance of getting in is below average. in fact, with rsi, i think your chance of admission is approximately 0%.

zogoto i've seen your stats. please keep in mind that mit is the hardest school to get into in the country. please don't be hopeful. rsi is good, but it's just a summer program. i suggest you start looking at some safeties.
