Some transfer app questions

Hi, I'm applying to transfer to UMiami from UCF after taking 6 classes at UCF (2 during Summer, 4 during Fall). I know I probably won't qualify for admission because of my high school grades and SAT, which are a 3.9 GPA and 1810 SAT. The GPA has a upward trend (3.1 freshman year, 4.6 Junior year, 4.2 Senior year) and only took the SAT once, but I doubt that matters to them.

My main problem is UM requires a recommendation from the college I'm currently attending, and since I have only been here for a month and havent even met with my advisers or talked to my teachers, I don't know who to get the recommendation from. I have emailed the director of first year advisers a couple times and hes the only offical I've really been in contact with. I plan to get a rec from my high school principal that I hope will be helpful. Who should I get my college rec from? and will they understand where I'm coming from with the rec from my high school principle?

Also, my father went to UM, and I was wondering how much legacy affects admission decisions. Thanks.

Why don’t you have one of your instructors from your summer classes send a LOR? Are you applying for spring or fall admission? The LOR from your HS principle is OK for a supplemental, but not for the required instructor LOR.

I got an A in both of my classes, but one I took online and the other had 150 students in it or so. I’d rather get it from my online teacher since she seemed nice and I turned everything in for that class atleast two weeks early, but do you really think she is the person to ask?

Spring decision… if I get denied, I will probably apply for Fall starting next year, assuming I can figure out what to major in by then. Is it a bad idea to put undeclared? Also, should I add that all I know is that my major won’t involve higher level math, and probably won’t be a science major?
