Some Transfer Question :)!!

Hi all! I just got accepted to CALS and I wanted to prepare what I need to do to go to Cornell :). Here are some of my question,

I am taking a Biology II with over the summer, on my application I have stated I’m going to take it summer course at University of Maryland - College Park. But there is a problem, it is on the Summer Session II (which starts from 7/13/09 to 8/23/09). According to the 2009-2010 academic calendar, registration and move in day for Cornell is 8/21/09. However, I did just found out that Morgan State University also offers Biology II with lab over the summer. Their summer course for Biology II with lab starts on 7/21/09 to 6/30/09. Now that would be so much better and sufficient if I can get permission to take my summer course at Morgan state University. Do you think CALS will let me take my biology 2 course at Morgan State University? And Yes I already emailed CALS about this situation. Waiting 7 to 10 days for a reply is too long for me!!!

Is freshman and Transfer orientation the same day and same place?

When do we get our Cornell ID? :D!! I want to look SEXY and prepare myself for a sexy photo!!! haha…

Can our friends/family come with us during orientation?

Where or when do we get to learn about all the student organization that is going on campus?

I’m so excited :)…

Yes…but ya’ll are separated. There are some activities that are for freshmen and transfers…like the meeting for new students in your major.

You’ll submit a photo over the summer and your ID card will be ready for pick up on move-in day.

There are few activities for parents on Friday and Saturday (I think). Other than that, the orientation activities are for new students only. Most parents don’t stay past Sunday. There is a new student family weekend in October that many families return for.

There is a club fair during the first few weeks of school. Also keep an eye out for fliers advertising meetings and such.

Their summer course for Biology II with lab starts on 7/21/09 to 6/30/09.

How does this make sense…

Oops I meant 5/21/09 to 6/30/09 haha.

Oh btw does anyone know if I can still apply for the language house program?

It’s most likely full.

Oh really? oh well, I can try it next year :)… its no big biggy haha. But I can go down and participate in their meeting even if I am in the language house program right? And does anyone when I can take my chinese entrance exam?

All placement exams are given during orientation.

So how do we sent them the pictures? Through email or a printed? lol. I dont mine driving up to Cornell to take a picture :)… I would love to walk around the Cornell campus during the summer :)

I’d think CALS will be fine with you taking the course at another university. And you’ll upload the picture file for your ID over the summer. I think it’s through a new student orientation website, but I don’t totally remember. They’ll tell you exactly what to do when you fill out all of the other forms over the summer. :)

Is there a Piano course @ Cornell? I would like to take some lessons in piano :)!! haha… just curious… if not it would be fine… i have so many interest :)

Can you declare a minor when you transfer to Cornell? I got accepted as a biological science major and I might want to do nutritional science minor. Is that a good idea?
