Someone explain the finals schedule

Fall 2010 Final Exam Schedule - Office of the Registrar

So I'm not sure how to read it. What do they mean by first lecture? As in the first lecture that I'll take for that term? The time slot that that class falls under would be the one I use to figure out the fianls exam time block?

Also what does "For courses having both lecture and recitation, the examination will be determined from the time of the first lecture period." mean? Beacuse Latin 103 on my schedule says only recitation...

The reason I'm asking is to figure out if I can get a cheaper round-way trip ticket for the way home.. thanks!

The finals slot is determined by the day of the week and time you have a lecture. If your lecture meets MWF at 11:00, you’ll look at the Monday schedule. It would be on Dec. 20th for this example.

Some classes have a combination of lectures and discussions. If this is the case then you go by the lecture time. Since your class is only recitations, you’ll go by that time.

Just keep in mind that not all classes have finals.

Also keep in mind that some professors also schedule their finals for the last day of classes, some examples being ANTHRCUL 101 and ANTHRBIO 161. The finals schedule, while convenient, isn’t always applicable for every class.

Some classes have multiple lectures and they want to administer the same exam to all of the sections so they have a special exam time. The finals schedule is always something good to look at when registering for classes.
