Someone PLEASE tell me if this is a good plan...?

Alright, so I plan on applying to Cornell Early Decision, but my terrible SAT Subject Tests are holding me back.

Basically, these are my options:

1) Take the ACT in October and retake SAT Subject Tests
2) Take the SAT I in October and retake SAT Subject Tests in November --> apply for regular admissions, decreasing my chances significantly...

I actually just saw another thread that said that Cornell will not take the November Subject Tests for ED, so I’d say go with option 1.

But, you have to see which would be best for you. Take one or two ACT practice tests, to see how you do on it. If you do equal to or better than you did on your SAT, option one looks the best. If you won’t do well on the ACT, than it would be better to have solid scores and apply RD, which means option 2 would be better.

Basically, if you will do better on the ACT than you did on the SAT, go with option 1. If not, go with option 2. This is all my opinion, of course.

Thanks so much! I’m just freaking out right now and it’s good to know that there’s still a bit of hope…there’s hope right?! #freakedoutjunior

There’s always hope. Just look at the fact that you are worrying about applying to Cornell, one of the top schools in the nation. Realize that there are many people who would dream about even considering applying to an Ivy League school.

Well, you pretty much saved me from going insane just now. Yeah, I realize that, and I still acknowledge that it’s going to be quite a reach for me, for anyone really. In the end, it’s not even the name of the school, but the major and your accomplishments there.
