Something I noticed about high school seniors

They seem to be really, really, cocky and self righteous on CC. They post topics and don't accept advice from more experienced people, they act like they know everything, and generally remind me of how I was the summer before I headed off to college.

You guys in the College Life subforum are much more modest and reasonable.

Well said lollybo.

Haha. Maybe its because they don't hear what they want to hear.

shutup dad

Life has already gotten us college kids down =P

Having to live away from your family and getting a host of responsibilities is a pretty humbling experience.

Overall though, I've found the common CC poster (let's say anyone with 100+ posts would be regular) to be pretty good about communicating ideas without it becoming about ego or the like. I have noticed no such trend for HS seniors to be overwhelmingly cocky or such, not moreso than any other group here (the college kids, the parents).

Every group has their share of friendly, helpful people. And of course, since life is the way life is, there is also the share in each group of angry, quick-to-argue, I'm-right-no-matter-what types.

C'est la vie.

Maybe the first year of college is THAT enlightening?

I agree that they hear what they want to hear in some of the other forums -- or rather, they don't hear what they don't want to hear. Some people just can't stand it when they don't know everything I guess haha

There are cocky people everywhere.......but yeah, some seniors do seem to be I-know-everything-there-is-to-know-about-college types. One day, people will realize that they don't as much as they think they do.

college is the major ego killer.
