Hi,
For the housing selection process I got the number 106 (the lowest in my group of four) and I was interested in the Bouquet Gardens apartments. I was wondering if any upperclassmen would know if I have a chance of getting one with 106, or if it's still too high of a number. I feel like almost all Sophomores-to-be want to get in it, and don't know if there's a decent chance I might be able to get into one.

You won’t get in. Bouquet is generally ALL juniors or athletes (they get first pick at housing IIRC) so as an incoming sophomore, you are better off going into Ruskin (although they only have 2 and 3 person apartments so you’ll need to split your group up).

very very very very very slim to none. In fact, I walked past PC today going to my bus stop and I noticed the housing list for apartments is up. Check where you are on it. If you’re pretty far down the quads list, prepare to be somewhere other than Bouquet.

my sophomore-to-be son and his group of 3 others (4 total) did not make the cut on the suite/apt selection list (despite a number around 500). What are their options now for on-campus housing?

They’ll now pick individually based on lottery numbers. Any upperclassman dorm with an open “bed” in a room is what they can pick from (i.e. maybe 2 beds in a 5 person suite in Panther, 1 bed in a suite in McCormick, etc.)

If they break into two groups of two, they could try to get on the same floor in Panther or Pennsylvania Hall. They are both beautiful dorms and have several double rooms on each floor. Have them look at the floor plans on the Panther Central Site. They should break into two groups where the two with the lowest numbers are not together. When the first group picks they can let the other group know where they picked so they can try to get near them. It’s no guarantee, but it’s worth a shot. My DS is in a 5 person suite in Panther this year and some of their friends were able to get doubles on their floor.

Thanks Awesome. Is it unusual that a sophomore with a 500 number would not make the cut? I would think that there will be a lot of sophomores behind them.

I’m not too sure. My freshman -> Sophomore year I think I had friends in the 400s who made the 3-person cut (i.e. Ruskin) but I didn’t know much about the 4-person cuts. Chances are that they got backed up by a large number of juniors-to-be who are either picking or retaining the room that they have, making the total number of rooms available for next year very low.
