You can join the group, and ask questions, you dont have to be sure of decision to join group. Group is there to answer your questions to help you decide too.

Umm so the thing about dorming again, in the first two years, it will at most hinder your ability to attend Sophie Davis events if you commute, because you cant stay too late. That is the only thing I feel like I missed out. Basically a college experience. However it wont affect your studying much and students who commute are doing just as good as students who are near campus, if not better.

um yeah ill join the group and look at some of the answered questions ill make a decision soon, but ill prob attend sophie davis i suppose. How are the transfer rates and stuff cause if i dont like it brown and cornell emailed me already saying i have a seat for transfer if anything

You can transfer after first year but I doubt you would want to, what you mean transfer rates, if your passing and doing great, it no problem walking out of Sophie Davis, most of your credits would be accepted too.

I feel like I know who you guys are cause I see you all joining the group on facebook and I am accepting you to join.

@Insanemom-My D does not come home on weekends anymore, she is very happy with her neighborhood and very busy with her studies. She may come home only for major holidys and if she is going on trip with us. She came home often in her 1st semester but beyond that she has found her second home in Harlem. I will ask her about Charles S. Not sure if she knows them all but I will check.

I know Charles, but I am not sure I should be sharing his contact info. Just ask questions here and on the facebook page, there are plenty of students willing to answer truthfully.

I plan on commuting first year because I hear first year isn’t too intensive. As for second year, I will try looking for roommates and rent a nearby apartment. Places around campus range from1800 to 3000 monthly. So finding two responsible and reliable roommates shouldn’t be too tough at such a competitive program!!

ccny gives credit for many aps, almost all of them, find that list, and you get those credits.

however aps that matter and can get you exempt from courses are
physics b - 8 credits, exempt from 2 first year courses
us history
psychology
ap english literature and language can get you exempt from a 6 credit course, if taken 1, it can get you half the course exempt.

that might be it for those that get you out of classes, but all can be counted and just make your credit count look cool.

Yes the other APs credits can count for your elective credits, but even if they do, you will have to take courses to be full time atleast and I would recommend taking courses past the minimum but it depends on the person. Personally starting with 34 credits, I am still taking many electives, staying open to other fields and further my interest in physics, psychology, and other things but many just take the minimum courses, and get involved other ways. It just looks poorly if your the minimum and then dont do other things.

Exact numbers are hard to get for how many applied or accepted but maybe at the accepted students lunch.

Hey does Sophie give separate financial aid/ awards, or is it just from city college? And has anyone heard anything back in terms of financial aid??
