Approximately, when do freshmans apply for their sophomore housing assignments for fall 2011?

I think the application goes live in Feb. There is no rush to be first as it is based on the original priority number. The window is open for a few weeks, then closed, then assignments available. I believe the assignments came out this past year on March 28.

The original priority number? Oy vey, I think that was 3000+ but who knows, D was accepted into an LLC so it wasn’t relevant at the time.

I guess I should tell her Ragans is doubtful…

By summer of 2012 Wildwood phase two will be done adding another 300 upperclass apartment style beds.

That’s what D had told us. She loves Wildwood this year - loves the area of her dorm, so there was interest in the newest phase of Wildwood. However, she’d be a junior in fall 2012 and by that time, who knows what she’ll want.

Cane mom, no worries about ragans.
My original priority number was mid 3000’s as well.
When i did the reapplication for fall 2010 (im a sophomore now), i DID NOT get ragans at first.

However, after sucessfully asking for a reassignment, the 2nd time i was in Ragans.
If your daughter DOES NOT get Ragans the first time, ask her to do reassigments the SECOND she gets her fall 2011 invoice.

Several people apply for a reapplication into on campus housing for the next fall, but several drop because they find other arrangments.

Good luck : )

^Thanks for that info xSidx1337x! But can you be more specific as to when you ask for reapplication (approx date) since the first time you made reassignment it was prior to receiving the fall invoice, right? What happens if you fail to get the reassignment you want after a second attempt?

Thanks again.

Hmm, im pretty sure that reapplication begins i would say early march, if not a little beforehand.

No, the reassignment is AFTER you receive your fall invoice. Only when you get your invoice will you know the hall your daughter gets into.
You CAN pretty much do reassignments to your hearts content.
My thing was that i wanted to have a single, so i got switched from a double in Wildwood (even though i only selected single on my first application? :(), then to a single in Deviney.
Then, i said, no way not Deviney again, so i did ANOTHER reassignment almost directly after i received my second invoice.
Selected Ragans (as the only hall choice), and i got in within days after the reassignment.

If your daughter doesn’t get Ragans for the first round, just make sure she does a reassignment the second she opens her invoice letter.

*In terms of, attempts, your daughter will only be moved into the hall she selects for reassignment. For instance, if your daughter chooses Gilchrist, and Ragans, housing will either put her ONLY in Gilchrist or Ragans if a spot becomes available. If she only selects Ragans, she WILL NOT be moved to anywhere else unless a spot in Ragans opens.

You will also be able to see the assignment online, and apply for reassignment at that time. They do take reassignments in order of receipt.
