Next year I’m taking the following:
AP Calculus AB
AP European History
AP Chemistry
AP Physics 1
Latin 3 Honors
English 10 Honors
Gym
Concert Band
How would you rate the schedule’s difficulty on a scale of 1-10? Is it [below/above] average?

9, just because there’s always something harder. AP physics though, thats impressive. Good luck
If you want something to compare to, I took Orchestra, Spanish, AP World, AP Environmental, Ceramics, Drawing (semester), English (online), health (semester), and Pre-Calc my sophomore year.
Did you already take pre-calculus? How did you do in it?
@DadTwoGirls, I got a 100 in Pre-Calc
You should take BC instead of AB if you get 100 in pre calc though
Without knowing the HS curriculum and without knowing how that particularly HS structures its AP Calc classes, that statement assumes facts not in evidence. If the OP’s HS does not offer MVC or have DE opportunities or teaches only the BC topics in AP Calc BC, your advice makes no sense. Just because things are structured a certain way at your HS does not mean that they are the same for the other 37K HS’s in the US.
"I got a 100 in Pre-Calc "
Then you should indeed be ready for Calc AB. I would stick with AB (rather than BC) largely on the basis that calculus is so central to so many things that you are going to do in the future, that you want to make sure that you know it very well. Also, you are young and are already ahead.
@skieurope I’m sorry then :(, gonna be careful next time
@DadTwoGirls, sorry for the late reply, but my school didn’t allow me to sign up for BC even when I wanted to so I’m relegated to AB.
It’s an extremely rigorous schedule. 4 APs is a lot, even for a Junior. Are you sure you’ll be able to handle it?
It’s definitely going to be tough.
Have you taken Honors Chem (pre-req for AP Chem)? If not, take it this year and plan to take AP Chem next year.
@MYOS1634, I doubled up on Honors Biology and Chemistry as a freshman (I was the only one that did that).
Ok, that’s good.
AP Chem is one of the most time intensive AP’s in part due to labs. However if you did well with those two classes as a freshman you should be okay.
Don’t do it “to impress colleges” though (they won’t be, they’ve seen it all, and want you to balance personal interests with your core classes) and make sure you have 8-9 hours of sleep a night (or you harm your brain and growth.)
