The housing ballot website does not list an option for sophomore singles. The only housing ballots left are for senior/junior single and doubles, and sophomore doubles. Will a sophomore singles option become available?

Ballots open tomorrow for both doubles and singles for rising Sophomores. Check out https://apphost2.its.vanderbilt.edu/studentbiz/documents/VanderbiltHousingGuide.pdf .

Pancaked, I see that in the guide. But when I logon onto the site there is no ballot listed as upcoming for sophomore singles.

Don’t worry about it. The ballot will be there tomorrow. The news/events on the Ballot system isn’t always maintained correctly, but they will always follow that housing guide to a T.

Thank you for that info, Pancaked. Are there normally enough sophomore singles to meet the ballot requests?

I don’t know the details but there are definitely a lot of singles on Alumni Lawn typically occupied by Sophomores.

Now the sophomore ballots are open but the page says there are no more singles available.

That is unusual, especially with the new dorms being opened up to Sophomores. I guess you will have to apply for a random roommate. Might want to contact the housing office tomorrow to make sure there are none available.

I heard that Vanderbilt was denying more requests for off campus housing than they had for the past 2 years since the new dorms are open and, this is just a guess on my part, there is a trickle down effect that juniors and seniors who aren’t moving off campus are taking up more available singles in Towers, Cole & Tolman, so there aren’t any left that are available for sophomores.

Once students live in off campus apartments it’s often difficult to get them to move back into a dorm room.
