Hi,

Penn has always been one of my top choices; unfortunately, on march 27th, I was disappointed to learn that I won't be a part of this wonderful school. I'll be attending UCD this year, but I am planning to transfer after completing my first year there.

My h.s stats were (mathematics major)
SATI : 610 (V) 770 (M) 710 (W) --essay:10
SATII : 770 Math II, 620 Chem
GPA: 3.9 (unweighted) -- I went to a very small christian school that offered 3 AP classes; I took all of them
.... many activities.. etc.
Ethnicity: Asian male (international)

So as far am I am aware, Penn doesn't take any credit from AP classes, and UCD has 3 quarters in a year-- so if I take 4 classes each quarter (class's credit varies from 3-5 so if I have 4 as an average), I'll have 48 credits. Plus if I do a summer school in UCD (or Penn if that'd look favorable) that will give me 6-8 credits, it'll be 54-56 total.

so my questions are..
1) is 54-56 points sufficient to be able to transfer as a sophomore? what are the other requirements?
2) am I going to have to re-take SAT/TOEFL/SAT II? Or is it more based on GPA, recommendations, and essay?
3) Do you honestly think that i'd have a shot if I maintain extremely high GPA in UCD?

Thank you!
