Any Out-of-State/Non-Resident UC Transfers?

Well are there any here? Just wondering if you could post your stats, which type of schools you are transferred from, and your major. Thanks in advance.

I got acceptd to UCD and UCSB as an out of stater. I have a 3.45 GPA at a 4 year private university in New York City. The majors I applied to were mangerial economics (UCD) and Business Economic emp. acc (UCSB). I also got accepted to Cal Poly and SDSU. I'm not sure whether I will be going since its gonna cost me about 17,000 after financial aid. Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot, nycxkraze. Good luck!

Anybody else? Would you also mind sharing any of your extra-curriculars?

Accepted out-of-state to UC Berkeley from Bard College... 3.75 GPA; Junior-level transfer; 18 years old.

Thanks, igarvey.

Accepted UCB & UCLA, attending UCB in Fall. 3.76, Junior transfer transferring from Comm Coll in Florida. Chemical Engineering major.

I don't have extra curriculars, I worked full time.

Thanks a lot, chemeng1. I'm actually an engineering major and after my first year I have a 3.5 at a four-year-university. If I can ace this next fall semester, then I can be up to about a 3.7.

Was that your GPA with three semesters included? Is that what the UC considers for admission? One last thing, how many of the required courses did you finish? Thanks.

Bump......

I finished all requirements, I will have 90 credits at the end of this semester. UCB makes it VERY clear that you have nearly no chance if you don't have the req'd courses done.

:)

Thanks a lot for your help, chemeng1. I hate to bother you again, but I was unclear if you finished all of the requirements PRIOR to applying or prior to enrollment? In other words, did you show grades for all of the required courses? Thanks again and good luck!

Last bump.

Oh, I'd be set for an American Studies major at UC Berkeley.

You must complete requirements by the spring prior to admission... so you can't take any requirements in the summer. Because some of my requirements were taken in the spring, they stipulated that my admission was contingent upon my completing all of the spring courses with a 'B' or better. ... Luckily, I got A's:)

So, I am now done with all required courses. I am taking Organic II right now during the summer and the college of chemistry requires me to take an American Chemical Society exam in Organic and score in the 75th %ile in order to transfer my organic course credit. Otherwise I have to retake it:-o

They're pretty rough, huh? :p
Best of luck!

I got into Cal from Arizona State w/ a 3.6-3.65, or something like that, as a junior. However, strangely, I was rejected by UCLA, so one of them must be a fluke

Thanks for you rhelp, Felix_9. Did you have any extra-curriculars on your application?
