BTW, what do you want to major in @brickthelegend It’s a huge factor for considering schools.

thanks @epan1997 , and I am looking for anything economics/business related, and I might minor in computer science.

but i havent ruled out law-related studies (but this would be for grad school)

also, might enter as undecided, I really like business but i also want to keep an open perspective

Okay, I know people who were interested in law, but after taking a course on it in high school, they lost interest. Be sure you know what each major entails and reference collegeboard for info; they give you recommended courses, college courses, and personality types for people in different majors.

Also keep in mind that many prestigious business programs require admissions to a separate school within that college. For example, Stern is part of NYU. These programs will often be harder to get into if you study business instead of biology, for example. NYU’s Stern School of business has an acceptance rate of about 10% whereas NYU in general has an acceptance rate of 32%.

interesting @epan1997

can anyone else give me a very critical viewing?

bump

If you are interested in Business go Penn ED for W, you would have a nice chance if you can get a high SAT.

Did you already research at NYU?

@brickthelegend I think you will be a very competitive applicant come college season for u in a few years, my advice stay with tennis if you like the sport just brave through it 11th/12th grade if it’s too much of a time commitment because a varsity letter is very good for college applications. Also you said you are into writing and communication consider applying to TASP or TASS summer programs they are great for someone like you, unfortunately I found out about them a little too late. Take the Math II SAT 2 ASAP. It’s a very easy test to get an 800, but the majority of the math on it is precalc and alg2 type stuff so I had reprep for it. I studied like 2 weeks before and got 800 so you should be fine. If you are interested in business/economics there are some summer programs that you can apply to (FEE, chapman Econ,FTE) they are free so it’s different from doing one of the summer programs at a college. Visit your dream schools to see if you really like them. I didn’t see if you lived in NYC but to someone from suburbia the city loses it’s magic after too long of a stay. Dartmouth is a very small school and there campus is dominated by the Greek system see if that interests you or makes you less interested. Please Chance back!

Thanks for all the feedback guys! @rugbysingh you really think I have a shot for Wharton? That was one of my top choices, but I was told it wasn’t realistic

Yes but make sure you get a high SAT and go ED
chance back please- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1669277-chances-2nd-tier-schools.html#latest

@rugbysingh, just did. Btw, I saw you are part of FBLA. I have a few questions about that, may I message you?

@brickthelegend Yeah go ahead.

Shameless bump

Columbia: low reach
Duke: match
Dartmout: match

you said you were a strong writer, so you should wow them on the essay! I say if you demonstrate enough interest, Columbia is a realistic reach, and duke and dartmouth even more so!
