sophomore year course selections

Hi I'm a rising sophomore and I have a question about course selections. My choices are between AP Euro and AP Chem. I can take either one, or both. My school highly discourages taking both as it is said to be too challenging. My question is: is it a good idea to take two, and if not which should I choose? I have a 4.5 GPA right now and all my other classes would be honors level. Thanks!

My school does not offer AP chem until after you have completed honors chem, honors bio and honors earth. As well as pre calc. I’m a sophomore in AP European and I love history but is a HUGE challenge. It really depends on you. I think that AP Euro requires a lot of work and memorization but AP Chem requires more brain power. If you are more math and science oriented then go for chem, if you are more into the humanities go for euro.
Also think about whay other classes you are taking and find a balance. Best of luck!

Thanks so much for the advice! I think I’m definitely leaning towards euro now :)
