I'm coming from Indiana with absolutely no one from my school and will be relying on rush as an instant way to make some new friends. I've heard greek life down in the south is pretty intense, so as an out of stater will it be hard for me to get a bid from a good sorority? I know I will definitely need recs which I will have taken care of, I'm a theta legacy (sister and grandma) and chi o legacy (mom) so I don't know if that helps either. I'm pretty outgoing, athletic, and I make good grades (4.2 GPA, 33 on ACT, 1990 on SAT). I'm just really nervous about it!

Rush can be intense at SEC schools but if you do your homework before you start rush you will do okay. Make sure that you get recs to all of the groups at UGA - you need to go in with an open mind and look at all of your options. Your grades and scores are good which will help. And being a legacy is good but it does not guarantee a bid to your legacy group.

And remember - all of the sororities at UGA are good. Good luck!

A 33 ACT ! Why Georgia ?

Can someone please explain the rush process at UGA and what you need to do to get ready? I am a Northern mom who was never in a soorority and went to school in the 70’s at a college that had very little Greek life. My D1 is at Tulane and is in a sorority there but other than buying the correct outfits there was no prep. Thanks!
