If I went to a four year school and THEN a JC do I still have a unit cap??

I was asked this in a private message.

I’ve heard mixed things about this. I think it doesn’t apply. However, you should definitely call the admissions office ASAP. Do not delay.

And when you find out, can you come back here and post for others what you were told and who told you?

Thank you and GOOD LUCK!!!

YES i went to a state school for a year before a JC and I was denied admission to UCSB and had to drop two classes and appeal…thankfully I got in and I called UCSD and they let me drop my classes and be re-evaluated but there is a unit cap! you would be considered a senior level transfer and not admitted.

UCLA is the only school (and maybe berkeley) that has no unit cap as long as the last school you were at was a JC

Yes, I think the unit cap doesn’t really apply at Berkeley even though they seem to imply that it does on their website. If you contact a Berkeley admissions officer I’m pretty sure she/he will say that the cap doesn’t apply.

ok thanks everyone… It doesn’t matter for this year But I don’t know if I’m getting into SB So I would only matter if I took classes next year.

My cousin went to a private four year and then CCC and had over 90+ units and was accepted into Cal, Davis, Irvine and SD last year. No worries^^

haha YES! I haven’t heard from SB so i’m guessing I didn’t get in and I was freaking out, thanks :)
