Sorry this is a really random question for me to be asking on CC but anyways..

I just lost my retainer! Agh! I just told my mom and she FLIPPED OUT! I haven't told my dad yet but I don't expect him to get all mad like my psycho mother. Anyways I'm forced to pay for it so

How much does a retainer cost?

I'm going to call the ortho tomorrow, but I cannot go to the office (1 hour away from my house) that day because I am leaving for Mexico the next day and staying there for week. I won't be sleeping a retainer for one week so will that drastically affect my teeth?

I got my braces off the summer before 9th grade and I have worn my retainer faithfully for almost 3 years if that will answer any questions.

Thanks and sorry for the random question!

Last summer I too was confronted with the loss of my retainer. In the outside cafeteria trash on a 100 degree day in New York.

Since it costs US$ 90, I fished through seemingly rotting milk and meat to find it, and drowned it in rubbing alcohol and disinfectant.

Good luck finding it!

P.S.
Your teeth will change a bit, but I believe, minisculely. Look hard for it, backtrack, dig thru trash, etc.

haha thanks! man, i really dont want to dig through trash though! ugh i think ill be willing to fork over $100..

bump! more answers please

That's disgusting Kaznack. Lmao!!

Hrm. My retainer was $300.

$100 for two here.

It might take a week to replace it anyway.

Why would anyone need two retainers?

I haven't worn my retainer in nearly a year, maybe more.

My teeth haven't changed much. Although it's quite difficult to put on my retainers again without them hurting a bit, but considering what my teeth looked like BEFORE I had braces, they haven't really changed at all.

Yeahhhh I should probably start putting them back on....

my retainers are $250 each. so $500 for both top and bottom.

Yea i think they cost closer to $500
