I hate those metal torture devices so much. They're expensive, painful, ugly, and such a hassle. I finally got them off today but now I must deal with retainers which I find are even more inconvenient. Oh well, straight teeth now woOoOot.

Have you ever had those Satanic metal train tracks before and did you enjoy them (haha)?

I have braces. They’re not that bad and it only hurt for a day or two when I first got them on. Tightening them doesn’t really hurt either. The only real pain was pulling down my two canines and straightening out a sideways tooth on the bottom.
I hate when food gets stuck in my braces.
Did you have to wear a palate expander? I had that for 6 months before I got my braces and it was horrendous. I couldn’t pronounce anything and food would get stuck in it for long periods of time and make my mouth taste horrendous.
Oh, and spacers hurt like a *****.

I’m happy though. You would not believe how bad my teeth were.

I had my braces taken off three years ago. Never bothered with the retainers after (only had to wear them at night), and my teeth are still fine lol. But I got lucky; apparently for a lot of people, if you don’t wear your retainers, your teeth get messed up again.

I went through two non-consecutive one year phases of braces and ended up getting the second phase off right before I became a freshman in highschool. I ended up having to wear a gross retainer 24/7 (except when eating) for about 4 months and now I have to wear it for the rest of my life at night…

I got mine on summer before 6th grade and got them taken off after my 14th b-day. Still had to get a tooth removed and then get a new implanted before freshman year,

I have mine. I had to get them later since my parents couldn’t afford them when I was 12, lol. I don’t actually mind them that much. They only hurt after they get tightened, and mine are clear so no one really notices them. I’ve had them on since February and I can already see a huge difference, so I’m happy I got them, even if it is much later than most people.

I wore braces from my second semester of sophomore year to the summer after my senior year last year. I’ve been wearing my retainer everyday (mostly at night) since last summer. I had the clear looking ones, but they weren’t really noticeable. It just sucked when they had to be tightened, but it’s all worth it in the end. People will be commenting on your smile a lot more often. :)

I enjoyed the pain of getting my braces tightened. I cant explain it, but the pain made me feel good… i believe pain releases endorphins and that is why people cut themselves

^^ Actually, I kind of feel you on this. A lot of people hate the feeling of getting their teeth scraped and polished, but I think it feels great. My teeth feel so clean afterward.

You know what feeling sucked? Getting spacers put in. I hated that. Imagine having a large popcorn kernel stuck between your molars for days. Ugh.

lol spacers good ol times. i remember when i would bite on something (the office was next to a pizza hut so i sometimes went to get breadsticks or wings) and id be like

My mom has naturally PERFECT teeth so i was blessed with mostly straight, nice teeth. But my (twin) brother had really crooked teeth so he got braces for like 2 years… glad I won’t have to.
