Sort of a lot of senior year absences- problem?

I've just happened to miss a lot of days this year for a variety of reasons from legit to stupid (though they're all excused, I just said I was sick for the unlegit days), it will end up totaling about 12. I missed 3 to go to out of state college football games, 2 because of the flu, a couple random other days for doctor appointments, missed one for a school project (the school explicitly allowed students to miss a day for the project, but they still count it as an absence), I took two senioritis days second semester on days where I wasn't doing anything. And now I'm going to miss a day this week for a job interview (they scheduled it at noon on a weekday, what).

It kind of crept up on me and I've gotten a little worried that GT will reject me when they see my high-ish absence numbers for my senior year, like they would if someone's grades tanked senior year. It seems kind of irrational and unlikely that they would throw me away for a not entirely unreasonable number of absences, but I'm pretty paranoid. Does anyone have any info on this for me?

12 isn’t that much IMO. you should be fine

??? I dont think your offical transcript list absenses…does it? My sons doesn’t. His regular report card does but that is it. Plus even if it did i can’t imagine they are going to care as long as you have mostly
A’s with maybe a B in an AP Class. Others have said just don’t get any C’s .

I assuming that you’re getting high grades since you’re applying to GT. Anyway good grades with some absences shows the ability to self teach, which is the main thing that college is all about. EG for every hour in class, you will probably end up spending 2-3 in self-study. GL

MIGA- yeah mine does. Your son must be in a different school district- but still, if listing absences isn’t universal, makes it less likely that it matters at all!

By the way, what part of Michigan are you from? I have a ton of roots in MI and am curious.

Interesting tbey show absences. Do they list them for each year? It would not be fair for GT to ding you for something that other kids transcripts don’t show. I think it is a non issue.

I am from a small town near Mt Pleasant,MI
