South Campus Commons

I'm thinking about trying to live in SCC junior year after my 2 year living and learning in Somerset Hall is done. Anyone know anyone who has lived in SCC? I hear there's like a huge wait list or something.

No actually rising juniors have the highest priority. They’re the only ones really who are in the lottery for it, others like rising seniors come after only if there’s spots left. I’ve actually heard that you have a good chance of getting in if you want to, though you might have to go into a 4-room apartment with yourself and 3 seniors rather than your friends. It all depends on your lotto number, but if you’re trying to go in as a group (2-4) you just need one of you to have a good #. I just did the process a few months ago and luckily got a pretty good number and me and my two friends got in the same apartment.

But yeah any waiting list would only come after the lottery has already been conducted, and again, I’ve heard from several people that if you want a spot (and are a rising junior) you have a good chance of getting one, it just might not be with your friends.

nice thats good to hear. I might try for that Beyond the Classroom liv and learning in SCC building 1 so id get people with similar interests. So SCC is a pretty good place to live then?

I was an RA there - fantastic place to live! Good amenities and better than most of campus…and trust me, I’ve lived on North Campus (not Oakland) and so I’ve experienced a lot. The life there was pretty good, plus it’s so close to Rt. 1. Hope you get it!

Hahaha I trust you. That’s awesome! I see some of the good amenities like kitchens. (so I have 2 years to either learn how to cook or find a girlfriend) Thanks!
