1st generation american, my family immigrated from USSR

give me a break... everyone short of being mentally retarded has a chance at getting in Cornell, it's not ACTUALLY selective. So my answer is still maybe

don't get his (or my) hopes up adcornell...

what do you mean by "it's not ACTUALLY selective"? do you know wat we need to do to get in? is there something specific that will make the admission officers love me?

dont listen to adcornell. not being ACTUALLY SELECTIVE? oh puhlease!!! this year, there were over 30000 applications and only about 3000 got in.

like always you need to specify which college you are applying to because each school is different. your APs, although good scores, realy mean nothing in admissions. you may want to try to get your SAT score up, though

Don't be fooled by these naysayers. Your SATs could be a little more solid (i.e. >2100), but just focus a LOT on one or two really outstanding ECs and your Russian heritage, as it makes you unique.
