Hi,

I'm scheduling for my junior year soon. I'm debating on whether or not I should take my 4th year of Spanish. If I didn't take Spanish, I would replace it with AP stats (I like math much more than Spanish... I have no interest in Spanish, and it's kind of becoming a joke of a class.) If I'm planning on eventually applying to some reach schools, will not taking my fourth year of a foreign language hurt me? I know colleges love to see you be proficient in a foreign language...

I was in the same situation as you. I decided to take AP psych instead of Spanish 4 my junior year, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. While Making a change may hurt your strength of schedule, it will surely help your GPA to take an AP class(weighted I’m assuming?) that you know you will get a good grade in and are interested in. I recommend taking stats, but then again I’m not on the admissions board

I think that three years of a foreign language is a fine idea, and like Thr33Hunna said, an AP class would be better for GPA. As for admissions, it really depends on what college you’re planning to go to, I guess.
