Going into my senior year, my school offers Spanish 5 and AP Spanish. I started out in Spanish 1 as a freshman and accelerated myself a year ahead.

This year, I have a major scheduling issue for AP Spanish; I could take the class, but it would screw up my lunch schedule and stuff that I need for my yearbook duties. Would taking Spanish 5 really hurt me in the long run?

AP Spanish teaches to the test (literature) and Spanish 5 is more language and speaking.

Thanks for helping me out. :)

I personally don’t take Spanish. But from what I’ve heard from my friends about AP Spanish Lit, it’s insanely hard; AP Spanish Lang is slightly easier, supposedly, but I still see a lot of people who get 2 and 3 on AP Spanish Lang
So I’d suggest you go for the Spanish 5, which works out anyway b/c of your yearbook duties

O.o Lol, at my school it’s just AP Spanish 5 XD
I personally would suggest that you take AP Spanish, as it will show you have great drive and motivation to do well (Spanish 1 to AP Spanish in 4 years, obviously not normal!)

But if yearbook is really important to you, and you feel that you need your schedule to work out so that you have time to devote to your yearbook work, then I would suggest you take Spanish 5. And no, I doubt taking Spanish 5 would hurt you. Sure, it’s not as good looking as AP Spanish, but jumping from Spanish 1 to Spanish 5 in 4 years is still impressive.

Good luck!
