So I'm planning on taking the Spanish placement test sometime this summer, and I was wondering if anyone's had any experience taking it? I've taken Spanish throughout middle and high school, but stopped at AP Spanish Language in junior year. Unfortunately, I got a 4 on it, I think primarily because there was a listening passage that I misunderstood because I didn't know the key word they kept using, and because of a severe accent one of the speakers had. The other parts I thought were decent. So basically, I haven't really done anything Spanish-related for about a year now, but I've still retained a lot of vocab and conjugations/tenses.

How does the placement exam compare to the AP or SAT II format-wise and in difficulty and what parts should I review? I've asked a friend about the hardness level of the AP/SAT II for Spanish and they basically told me that they got a 3 on the AP but a ~750 on the SAT II. I would have taken the SAT II, but I missed the chance to, and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to take it in freshman fall and then send my score to Princeton.

In the chance that I do make it past the online test and am called upon for the "interview" and confirmation test, how is it set up? Based off of old posts, those two parts are concurrent in a one-hour period, so I have no clue how a one-on-one oral interview is possible, because I'm sure many people place out to this point. I've searched all over the web and in college confidential, but there are no clear answers I'm getting in terms of the "interview" and confirmation-test portions.

Thanks! :)
