I was recently admitted into purdue and was wondering what kind of information I need to know for the Spanish placement exam. Can I be placed out of Spanish 101, 102 and 201? Does the test cover ap Spanish material? I’ve only taken to Spanish 2 in high school so I don’t know if I should bother taking it. Does the test cover just preterite vs imperfect vs the present tense?
I never took AP Spanish. My Spanish department was a joke at my school, so I got out of 101 and 102 after 4 years. I took it 4 years ago so it might’ve changed. There was a listening section and a multiple choice section. There was some verb stuff but I can’t really remember. Also, I might be wrong but if you pass out of an odd number of classes, I’m pretty sure you gotta take the next class to get credit. So if you place out if 101, 102, and 201, you won’t get credit for 201 unless you take 202. But that might vary by college or be something I’ve misunderstood. It’s been a while.
My D only took Spanish 3 in HS. She took the test and got 9 credit hrs.
Just try, it does not hurt.
