Hi,

I have been admitted to Duke. I want to better understand foreign language reqs. It seems Duke is pretty intense on foreign language req. I have not taken the SAT Subject test or AP test in Spanish.

I have taken 3 semesters of spanish in community college. I may have to take Spanish 204 and a Spanish 300 level course. I would rather take one Spanish 300 level course to fulfill the reqs. I am considering taking Spanish 301: Intro. to Cultural Studies, which seems to emphasize oral communication (which is not my strongest skill).

Few questions:
- Any advice in jumping into Spanish 301 without being too strong in speaking? If I find out that this is too challenging for me, can I switch to a lower level class?
- Does Spanish 301 get easily full in Fall semester making it difficult for Freshman to enroll in?
- Any other tips/advice in fulfilling 1-2 courses in Spanish for the FL req.?
