I was wondering just how tough the curve is on the spanish? im taking it saturday.
to give you some background: From ages 0-5 I spoke spanish at home about 50% of the time but that percent has gotten smaller and smaller over the years, so I have a very good intuitive knowledge of the language especially in terms of vocab and just knowing when things sound right or not. I have been to spain a few times but was never really fully “immersed” as i was with my english speaking parents and i only really used spanish in madrid because catalan is so prevalent in barcelona. this past summer i spent 3 weeks in ecuador and spoke spanish 24/7. i took spanish from 5th-7th grade, spanish I 8th, spanish II 9th, and skipped spanish III so now im a sophomore taking ap spanish language. i get straight a’s in spanish and rarely study, and i expect to get a 5 on the ap exam but i’ve heard bad things about the subject test curve and now i’m a little worried especially since i’m aiming at that 780-800 range.
ok sorry for that long winded history of my spanish education but how good do you think my chances are of getting a 780-800 even with the curve from the native speakers who take it?
The curve varies according to when the test is offered, but IMO roughly:
800 = 2 wrong
790 = 4 wrong
780 = 6 wrong
