hey guys,

i submitted part 1 of my application about a week ago, and today I happened to catch a spelling error ("Univeristy" instead of "University" - my dad typed in his school incorrectly and neither of us caught it)- should i worry about it? It's minor...I know I can't go back and change it now that it's been submitted. Do I need to e-mail MIT?

I wouldn't worry about it.

Nah, not worth emailing about, though perhaps it's better if you fill out and proofread your own application =P

The odds are good that they won't even notice. I think emailing about it would do more harm than good -- it's a minor issue, and emailing would ensure that they'll notice.

Yeah, don't worry about it. Definitely proofread more carefully with the more substantive Part II lol (and don't put "That's why I would love to go to Caltech" by mistake)

With a mistake like that, they might accidentally enroll you in Caltech :p
