I kind of want to grow crawl in a hole and just die of embarrassment. I emailed my MIT interviewer to request an interview and told him I would love the "oppurtunity to speak with him." Is that a glaring error? Should I apologize? I very rarely make spelling mistakes so I don't spell check, which I guess I should change.

Dont worry about it. Certianly, don’t email back to apologize!

Those of us who communicate thru email often know that typos happen. Shake it off. Have a great interview. He/She is not there to knock you or serve as a gatekeeper but to serve as a conduit for you and MIT admissions.

Agree- this is such a minor issue that I wouldn’t even waste another second thinking about it.

I am far more bothered my grammatical errors than true typos. (Their/there/they’re, its/it’s, etc.) I agree with the others that it will be viewed as a typo if noticed at all. Best of luck!

MIT interview requests (and interviews) are very informal and he/she probably wouldn’t care over a small typo. I wouldn’t worry about it.
