I will be spending the 2014 fall semester in Italy. I am just curious about the proper amount of spending money to bring. Meals would need to be included in this as well as a good amount making it possible for me to travel.

Thank you! :-)

I did a post a while back about ‘how much it cost’ that is somewhere in this forum… if you can find it, it kind of outlines the cost. My daughter was in the Netherlands, so there was a hefty visa charge, etcetera, and she had to figure out how to eat, too. She took a few trips outside the country… so hunt for the post. It may be on page two or so. Hopefully some more people will post, too.

Found it: on page two, ‘this is how much it cost, more or less.’ Again, it can give you a ballpark figure. She took $6000 over, brought back $1000, but had a credit card for airfares to other countries, the baggage charge to return home with two suitcases, a trip to buy pans/housewares for the apartment, a bike rental, etc. My post may shed some partial light on your excellent question.

Take a conservative sum and multiply it by 2. Haha more so joking because in my family it was always “I think I’ll need X amount… So I probably will actually need x times 2”
