Sport ECs

Hey guys
As i'm filling the CommonApp, I was wondering whether I should (or not) list one of my sports as an EC, or if it's just pointless.
I'm applying to Columbia.

So, I did :

Krav Maga 2 years
Judo 3 years
Karate 3 years
Soccer 2 years
Basket Ball 2 years (Region's 1st league)
Climbing 2 years
Athletics 2 years
Natation 3 years

Uuuuuuup !

Sports are ECs. Therefore, they should be included as ECs.

Ok but there’s a limit of 10 EC’s and I already use 7 of them. How can I include my sports?

Maybe combine them by type, such as martial arts, team sports, etc. and add a little clarification in the description area.

I agree with sherpa. And if you are listing so many sports, not sure you need to list “athletics” as a separate item.

athletics is track

Thanks for the clarification vodean  So if athletics is “Track”, then I would list your events for the (2) years.

I actually have a question about sports .Do I need to provide an evidence that I play a sport . I play Soccer about every week but iam not a part of any club and I didn’t participate in any competitions or anything , Can I lest this as a sport in my college application ??

Yes, you can list soccer as an EC if you commit a substantial amount of time and energy to it. There is no rule anywhere that says it has to be part of a club or you have to part of a regular team.

^^ Thnx, that was really helpful (:
