well u can email the coach good luck with him getting back to you. You could try walin on but they will be practicin during the summer and beginning of the year so u’d be behind. The biggest thing is if you’ve already been accepted and if you really are good enough to compete… Im a captain but those boys are much better than I. I had a 24 and 3 record so i was “decent”

so what you’re saying is only recruited athletes are on Navy’s sport teams?

I want to do crew but I’ve never rowed before. I simply emailed the crew coach and received a reply several days later where he outlined the whole process to me. They do intramural rowing during plebe summer and then those interested can join the freshmen team (or varsity if good enough) when practice starts up in September.

Not sure about other sports, but emailing the coach can’t hurt…

no, of course not im sure for wrestling it is much like the rowing process… Only you being a wrestler know how much harder it is than rowing.

I’m sure you don’t mean that wrestling is a harder sport than rowing, but that getting onto the wrestling team as a walk-on or through IM’s may be tougher than with crew…

Regardless, if you want to compete in a Varsity sport, make sure you get your NCAA info filled out and do it while your school counselors and teachers are still around. We were working with NCAA, trying to find school counselors for transcripts, etc, and getting phone calls from the Varsity XC/Track Coach at USNA during Plebe Summer so my son could run in the first meet of the fall. We had no awareness of the NCAA process, as well. (Our school just doesn’t guide you through it. All up to us on our own.) Occupied the better part of 3 weeks on my end, and a couple of very fretful days for our son during his Plebe summer.
