How hard is it for one to be successful in the sports journalism field, particularly doing broadcast radio?

Honestly no idea, but a friend of my son’s (graduated from college last year) seems to be doing all of the right things. He started broadcasting some of the school’s games by his sophomore year (started with women’s soccer, I think, moved on to men’s lax), and is now working in his home town with one of the local DIII colleges. Doing some local TV interviews, . . . . If you’re interested, I’d suggest you contact your college’s athletic department and see if you can get started.
